The Tideway hosts many famous races including that of Scullers Head; The Pairs Head; The Fours Head; The Schools Head (sweep boats); The Woman’s Eights Head; The Eights Head (Men); and of course, the most famous race in the world, The Boat Race. All of the races are raced from Chiswick towards Putney (In the opposite direction to that of The Boat Race). HSOBC completes in many of these events. Traditionally HSOBC boat from University of London Boat Club and then returns back to the UL boat house.

The best place to view the Schools Head and the Women’s Head is from Hammersmith Bridge. Another good place to view the race is just up the course in from Imperial College (that way you avoid the crowds and the other spectators.

 

Where to park, well, its London and its so difficult to say. Parents wont however be able to park in the parking where the girls will be boating. They are welcome to come watch them boating but there are limitations in parking available so parents are asked not to park there. The AA directions below will get you to
