Dear Parents and Athletes,

I have just been down to the river at Godstow and the water is still very high and fast. I have deemed it safe for 2 crews to go afloat tomorrow morning (Saturday 16th Jan 2016). The captain of boats will let those who are at the river know. If you are not at Godstow, training will run at the school gym. If you do not know where you need to be please let me or Ryan know and we will tell you.

Training will be from 8am to 12pm for both the water and the gym sessions.

I will conduct another assessment of the river conditions tomorrow morning. Please make sure that you have kit for land training in case the conditions worsen.

Please be aware that it is forecast to be very cold tomorrow, please ensure that you are properly attired for rowing in the cold (leggings, long-sleeves, many layers, neck warmers and warm hat), I will not allow anyone to go afloat who is not dress suitably. You will also need wellington boots.

Finally, I will post on the website again on Saturday afternoon with an update about the river levels and the plan for training on Sunday 17th January.

Many thanks for understanding, hopefully the river will begin to drop soon!

Kind regards,

Chris Hermes
