Marlow Spring Regatta 2017

Thursday, 4 May 2017 - 2:38pm

Marlow Spring Regatta is the first river regatta of the season for Headington and is attended by our J13 and J14 rowers. Run on the May day bank holiday Monday, Marlow Spring has a fantastic atmosphere and is run over 1000m on the beautiful stretch of the Thames at Marlow.

The J14 squad was well represented at Marlow Spring, taking to the water in singles, doubles, quads and octos! Trudie raced very well to see off the challenges of fellow Headingtonians Claudia and Phoebe in the final of the J14 1x. The J14 8x+ had a fantastic second half in their final, taking 2nd place in the final of this competitive event.

The J14 squad acquitted themselves extremely well at Marlow and are looking forward to racing at the National Schools Regatta at the end of the month.

There was also a strong showing from the J13 squad at Marlow, with nearly 30 girls racing over the course of the day. As I mentioned above Phoebe raced extremely well to reach the final of the J14 single scull competing as she was against girls a year older. The coxed quads of Isobel, Elizabeth, Jasmine, Isabelle and Hebe; and Francesca, Elizabeth, Emilie, Jaydn and Anastasia had a fantastic regatta taking 1st and 2nd respectively in the WJ13 4x+ event winning their semi-finals in fine style to set up the all Headington final.

There are currently no highlighted events. Our full calendar is here.
