Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please see below for arrangements and timings for the South of England Indoor Rowing Championships (SEIRC). The SEIRC is held at the White Horse Leisure Centre in Abingdon. Headington have entered those Novice, J13 and J14 rowers who signed up into the individual event and into team events where possible; the girls will be given their groups for the team event at training this week.

Transport:

The school transport will depart at 8:15am at the latest. Please meet outside the school gym at 8:00am. Please note that there are boarders and girls who may be sleeping. YOU MUST NOT MAKE ANY NOISE outside the boarding houses. Transport is available back from the venue however, where possible, please can parents arrange transport back from the event.

Please note that all girls must use school transport to get to the event unless she has permission from the Head of Rowing to meet us at the race venue. If your daughter is racing later in the day and wishes to meet us at the event please ensure that she arrives at the venue no later than 1 hour before her scheduled race time and that Mr Hermes is informed that she will not be on the school transport.

Individual Events:

Novice - 09:50 or 10:00

J13 - 11:00, 11:10 or 11:20

J14 - 12:05, 12:15 or 12:25

Team Events:

Novice - 11:50

J13 - 12:55

J14 - 14:10

Please note that there are a large number of Headington girls racing and that it is their responsibility that they follow the coaches instructions and the timings below.

08:00: Meet at School gym for school transport to event

08:15: Bus departs from school.

08:45:  Bus arrives at White Horse Leisure Centre, Abingdon.

from 09:00: Registration (those making their own way to the event to arrive no later than 1 hour before their race)

09:50: Earliest race time for girls in the Individual event (please note that the racing programme is subject to last minute changes). Rowers note: you are responsible for ensuring that you are ready to race at the correct time, please ensure that you are familiar with the race schedule and have read the event rules on the event website. Please stay with your coaches so they can tell you when and where you are racing. Rowers that are late may not be allowed to race. I have instructed coaches that under no circumstances are they to chase girls to get racing.

15:00: Bus departs race venue for return to Headington

Kit and Food

Please ensure the girls have:

- Water bottles with electrolyte replacement fluid.

- Food.

- A good breakfast before you depart (eg: Poridge, toast and a banana).
- Post Race: Make sure you have pasta for after your race, a banana / fruit, a cereal bar and food for your coaches who clearly don't practice what they preach.

- Kit: You will need a change of kit for after your race. Make sure you have enough warm kit for when you are sitting around before and after your race.

- Please note that headphones and personal music devices are not allowed during competition

Transport:
