Henley 4s & 8s Head: Saturday 15th February 2020

Updated: Feb 13, 2020

Henley 4s & 8s Head has been CANCELLED

Please see the statement regarding the cancellation from the event website below

-----

We are sorry to announce that Henley Fours and Eights Head this Saturday is CANCELLED.

The Met Office weather warnings relating to Storm Dennis indicate that we cannot ensure safe and fair racing, and conditions will be very challenging for marshalling, and for trailer towing to and from Henley.

We are sorry that another rowing event falls foul of the weather, but hope we have made the decision early enough to minimise the inconvenience for competing clubs.

We look forward to welcoming you to Henley Sculls later in the year.

Itinerary: Henley 4s & 8s Head - 15th February 2020

Please note that there are many girls racing and that it is their responsibility that they follow the coaches instructions and the timings below. Also, once the girls boat they may have to wait on the water before racing so they will need to make sure to have had a loo stop prior to racing and that have warm rowing kit available.

08:50: Meet outside school gym

09:00: Bus departs from Headington.

10:00: Bus arrives at venue - begin rigging boats

11:00: Boats rigged for Division 2

11:30: Dressed and ready for pre-race chat at the trailer. You will then warm up and boat. There will be no time for anything else.

12:00: Earliest boating time for division 2 athletes. Please note: rowers are responsible for ensuring that they have boated at the correct times, rowers need to have inspected the draw and made note of boating times. Crews that are late may not be allowed to race. I have instructed coaches that under no circumstances are they to chase girls to get boated!

13:00: In marshalling area (warm kit is needed as rowers may be there for a while).

13:30: Approximate start time for Division 2: it could be earlier so rowers are to row straight to the start.

After the race any breakages or other equipment issues should be reported to the coaches immediately.

from 14:30: De-Rig and load trailer. No girl may depart before the trailer is fully loaded.
