Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Junior Inter-Regional Regatta is being run at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham on Saturday the 25th of April. Those racing have gained selection to represent the Thames Upriver West Region - this is the first opportunity for the girls to gain a representative honour in rowing, a great achievement. They will now compete against crews from the 15 other British Rowing regions around the country in a 1000m time trial followed by a 1500m Final.

Transport:
There will be two departure times for the school transport to the Regatta:
For the WJ14 2x and WJ16 8+; the school bus will depart on at 0515 at the latest. Please meet outside the school gym at 0505.
For all other crews, the school bus will depart on at 0630 at the latest. Please meet outside the school gym at 0620.
Transport will be available back from Nottingham to school. However this will only depart once all racing has concluded and the trailer has been loaded of all boats. If being collected by parents after racing; no girls may depart the event until their equipment has been fully loaded onto the trailer and/or they have been dismissed by their coach.

Kit and Food
The girls will need:
- A Large water bottle (1L) with electrolyte replacement fluid.
- Food - The girls should bring with them some of their normal race day food for during the daynd in between races, if you are not sure what to bring please have the girls ask their coaches.
- Race kit: The girls will race in their HSOBC lycra with the Thames Upriver West T-shirt. The t-shirt along with any additional purchased kit will be distributed on the day.
- Additional kit: The girls should bring some long lasting race day food and electrolyte replacement fluid (squash with a pinch of salt is perfect). The girls will also require sun cream and hats. There will be some longer gaps during the day so the girls can bring their revision materials with them - we will provide a space for quiet study.
Spectating
Spectators are welcome and encouraged on both sides of the lake.

Please do not enter the athlete areas (the boating areas and trailer parks) for any reason unless it is an emergency. Under no circumstances should a parent attempt to follow racing on a bicycle as this may result in the crew being disqualified.
Please do not be offended if a member of HSOBC staff or a Regatta official asks you to leave an athlete area or to stop following a race.

Please ensure that you purchase a ticket as fines will be issued to anyone parking who does not pay, the site used AMPR cameras to manage parking and ticketing.
