Over the Christmas holidays 40 girls across years 11, 12 and 13, travelled to Spain for a week of rowing. The team rowed on a lake which spanned over 16 km allowing them to complete good mileage over the seven days. With lots of battle paddling between 4 competitive eights, all the girls made lots of progress with technical skills and endurance.
Alongside the heavy training and revision, the girls had a dress up night where they created a costume which included one of their Headington camp unis. For example, some of the j16s dressed as bananas in pyjamas!
The food provided by the hotel was amazing. Everyone was able to fuel themselves properly for busy days. We almost managed a week without rain and although there was heavy fog in the early morning, by the afternoon the sun was shining and the sunset for evening rows was really picturesque.
Overall, camp was a resounding success. A big thank you to the coaches made this possible.
