Vesta Scullers Head 2026

On Saturday HSOBC rowers travelled to London to compete at the Vesta Scullers’ Head. This was an exciting opportunity for the squad to begin the new season with some challenging single-sculling racing, and to gain experience on the tideway.

Headington had a strong contingent of girls racing, with more than 10 entries in the J18 category alone. There was plenty of competition across the junior events, and the race offered an early-season benchmark and a chance for the scullers to put their training into practice.

This was a great way for our J16-senior squad to kick off the season, with a hugely impressive number of girls racing and an incredible set of results with HSOBC claiming 1st and 3rd in both J17 and J18 categories. A huge well done to everyone who raced, and a massive thank you to the coaches.
