A Record-Breaking Two Days for Headington at Henley Women’s Regatta 2026

Henley Women’s Regatta 2026 proved to be a record breaking event for Headington School Boat Club. A huge well done to everyone who raced and contributed to such a strong team performance.

Headington achieved its highest-ever number of qualifying crews, with 9 crews entered and 6 progressing through qualification to the main regatta. A special mention should be made for Lana who had a great race in her single scull just missing out on qualifying by one place. 

A really strong set of performances on the Saturday afternoon from every crew saw the club set another milestone, with a HSOBC record of 4 crews reaching the Sunday of the regatta, demonstrating the depth and strength of the squad across multiple boat classes.

The Sunday of the regatta brought even greater success. Both the Junior Coxed Four and the Junior Eight won their respective events, marking the first time in the club’s history that two Headington crews have lifted trophies at the same Henley Women’s Regatta.

To cap off an extraordinary weekend, the Junior Eight delivered a truly exceptional performance in the final, breaking the course record; an impressive 5 seconds faster than the previous best time.

The weekend will undoubtedly be remembered as a huge success for the HSOBC with the boat club setting new standards and creating memories that will inspire future generations of athletes.
