To round the weekend off the J14s, J15s, and J16s returned to Dorney Lake to compete in the Junior Sculling Regatta, they fielded an impressive number of crews, demonstrating impressive depth across all age categories. The highlights of the day included an impressive performance from the J15 2nd 4x+ placing 15th overall and being the second fastest 2nd crew in the category. The J14s also produced a dominant performance with both the quad and octo finishing in medal positions (1st and 2nd respectively). It was excellent to have so many crews out and racing, with great preparation taking place in the lead up to the National Schools Regatta.
Results overview:
WJ16 4x: bronze
WJ16 2x: 12th and 13th
WJ15 4x+ 5th & 15th (2nd fastest B quad)
WJ14 4x+ Gold
WJ14 8x+: Silver
The racing season is now officially underway! For many, these were the first side-by-side races of the year—a great starting point, with some excellent results to build on, that have undoubtedly left us all excited for the regattas to come.
